When you think of the installation process for new heating and cooling systems, what do you envision? Most people imagine a team of professionals coming to their home, installing new equipment in an hour or two, and leaving like they were never there.
But is that really how it goes? Is it as simple as ABC (A comes before B)? Well not quite. When Chisholm Heating and Air installs your new system, here’s what to expect:
How long does it take to install a new heating and cooling system?
Most heating and cooling systems will take between one to two days to install properly.
Do I need to be home for the installation?
In most cases, yes. This is because heating and cooling systems are a full-length replacement process where homeowners need to be aware of what’s going on at all times during installation.
What happens with my old system?
We remove your old heating and cooling system, recover any refrigerant, and recycle the indoor and outdoor portions of your old system.
How many technicians will install my new system?
Installation of heating and cooling systems is done by two or four technicians from Top Gun Heating and Air.
Is insulation required around my ductwork when a new heating and cooling system is installed?
Insulation is highly suggested around your ductwork when installing a new heating and cooling system to ensure that every bit of cold or hot air reaches every part of your home.
Will they cover my hardwood floors with something?
During the heating and cooling replacement process, your technicians will cover hardwood flooring with a plastic sheet to protect it from any damage that may occur during installation.
This helps save the floor underneath as well as provide safety for everyone involved by preventing accidental slips or falls- especially when carrying equipment across room.
Do they have to disconnect my gas, water or electric for installation?
In most heating and cooling replacements, it is required that all gas lines are turned off prior to installation.
This ensures safety for our technicians as well as your family so please be sure to have this step completed before any heating system replacement project begins!
